Jimmy Likes Pie started on a whim in June 2001 as a bunch of Waverly High School teachers gathered after Commencement in Doug’s basement.
Too much fun to just do it once, the band started a regular gathering on Thursday nights and the school year flew by. So did the next nine! A few personnel changes came, too.
We left the basement for Fundraisers, Battles of the Bands, private parties, and eventually paying gigs.
The first bar to take a chance on us was The R Club on Lansing’s west side and we’ve been giggin’ ever since all over Michigan.
We took off the summer of ’10 but with a Smoke Free MI, we’re going to come back strong in the autumn. Check our Gigs page.
